Winners of 2022 MichiganCIO of the Year ORBIE Awards announced

Ravi Pendse, Cathy Curley, and Carrie Shumaker received prestigious ORBIE awards for their IT leadership. Daniel Waltz and Josh Wilda were finalists in the healthcare category. MichiganCIO recognized chief information officers in six key categories – Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Corporate, & Healthcare. The awards were at The Henry on October 21.

Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan Health-West partner to implement remote emergency radiology service

On May 16, the Michigan Medicine and U-M Health West radiology departments launched a remote emergency imaging interpretation service. Michigan Medicine’s dedicated emergency radiologists now interpret all overnight and weekend urgent/emergent diagnostic radiology exams for U-M Health West. U-M partners with Google to offer job-ready tech skills program

A new flexible online training program on data science will prepare job-seekers in Michigan and beyond to quickly enter one of the fastest-growing labor markets and advance their careers. The Center for Academic Innovation created the program, “Data Analytics in the Public Sector with R,” for data science and other professionals interested in how public data sets can drive decisions and policymaking in the public sector.

Long-time ticketing service, MRequest, has retired

MRequest (FootPrints) has retired. The service was launched over 18 years ago as a low-cost ticketing and customer-service solution.
