The next MiChart upgrade is planned for Sunday, April 18. This will be the first planned upgrade for 2021 with a goal to reduce downtime duration and impact to the organization. The upgrade will include updates, system maintenance, and new features to the MiChart application.
Projects will be funded through the XR Innovation Fund and include experiences focused on architectural design, language instruction, supporting medical and nursing training, and diversity, equity and accessibility issues in the XR space.
The project began with a vision to create a scalable digital infrastructure where all U-M schools, colleges, and units can post volunteer opportunities for alumni, friends, and fans to explore.
In addition to videoconferencing, Microsoft Teams is another collaboration tool option offered by ITS that helps people stay connected and organized.
Michigan Medicine powered off the last of its legacy Nortel PBXs in the hospital on January 11. Now, all its phone service has been migrated to VoIP.
Great news: Zoom for Health at U-M no longer exists! Thanks to the collaborative efforts of U-M and Zoom, U-M Zoom was approved for PHI (HIPAA data). ITS has begun testing DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) for use at U-M. If this testing does not present any significant issues, ITS will begin validating signatures at the end of January.
Dell Technologies has been selected as U-M’s new strategic supplier for computer hardware, which includes laptops, PCs, monitors, keyboards and other equipment.
