Sponsor System upgrade

This summer, U-M’s Sponsor System will be upgraded to replace its dependency on Cosign authentication with Shibboleth. GitLab pilot service to retire July 2023

U-M GitLab is a platform for managing code history and code changes that ITS began piloting in 2017. Last year, ITS launched a fully supported Git repository platform, U-M GitHub, that offers enterprise-level collaboration. Enhancements to MCommunity Group expiration and renewal

On December 8, an MCommunity release improved deactivated and expired group functionality. Instead of deleting groups as they do today, owners now deactivate groups, thus affording all owners an option to restore groups. Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan Health-West partner to implement remote emergency radiology service

Long-time ticketing service, MRequest, has retired

MRequest (FootPrints) has retired. The service was launched over 18 years ago as a low-cost ticketing and customer-service solution. Units: plan to discontinue Cosign use by June 2023

Information and Technology Services along with many units are working to discontinue use and retire the two-decade old Cosign Authentication service. As part of the U-M Annual Internal Control Certification process for this fiscal year, units are required to attest to discontinuing or planning to discontinue use of Cosign in unit-owned applications by June 2023.
