Michigan Medicine is taking steps to protect its network and resources, while also encouraging a safe and non-threatening work environment. Beginning June 5, MWireless-UMHS will no longer be available in ambulatory, inpatient, or administrative buildings. U-M’s network Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) now protects the recently launched MSetup wireless network from malicious internet traffic.
MSetup enables the campus community to connect many more wireless devices to the U-M network than ever before—including smart speakers, wearables, game consoles, and more.
