Greetings everyone,

We have certainly had an exciting start to 2024. On New Year’s Day, I was fortunate enough to be in Pasadena, cheering our Wolverines on to victory at the Rose Bowl. I considered it one of the best games I had ever watched in my lifetime. At least until I found myself in Houston watching our team win the National Championship. What an incredible accomplishment.

During the Championship festivities, my pride in our team was only eclipsed by my pride in the U-M community. I was surrounded by so many fans, alumni, and colleagues who believe in the mission of our school. It reinforced to me how lucky we are to serve this extraordinary institution. As we start this new year together, I want us all to keep that spirit of gratitude and service alive within Michigan IT.

I want us all to continue our ongoing focus on customer service and help lead the people we serve toward the best possible solutions for their needs. We lead to serve, and we do so with grace and resilience, which brings joy to each member of our community. I am looking forward to working with all of you to embody that spirit in 2024.

What do you want to accomplish this year, and how can I help? I want to know. Throughout the year, I will be asking you to share your ideas and aspirations with me so that we can start dialogues to make Michigan IT even stronger and better.

This month, my question for you is – what are the big topics that you want to see Michigan IT tackle in this new year? Do you have ideas for how we can incorporate GenAI into more of our work processes? Are there interesting new technologies that you would like us to embrace? Please reach out to me at rpendse@umich.edu and let me know. I truly value your input.

With gratitude,

Ravi
