Michigan Data Science Fellows

The Michigan Institute of Data Science (MIDAS) announced its inagural cohort of seven Michigan Data Science Fellows. The international group of data scientists will bring data science methods to domain sciences and data science application areas.

The two-year program offers each data scientist, recent PhDs, the opportunity to work independently on research with scientific and career guidance from two faculty sponsors, a methodology expert, and an application domain expert.

“This is the first postdoctoral training program at U-M, and one of the few in the nation, with data science as the explicit focus,” H.V. Jagadish, MIDAS director and professor of Computer Science and Engineering said, “and we hope this program will foster the next generation of data science leaders with both a strong scientific vision and a commitment to using data science for positive societal impact.”
