IT Innovation at Lunch, a professional interest group open to the Michigan IT community, has several upcoming events with open registration.

On July 21, the group will tour the Michigan Information Interaction Lab, a new human-computer interaction lab where UMSI professor Michael Nebeling and other researchers study the next generation of user interfaces and the methods and tools to create them. There will be a 20-minute lab tour followed by a change of location for lunch and Q&A.

On August 11, the group will visit MTRI where Colin Brooks, senior research scientist, will talk about his use of drones to assess transportation infrastructure and to map invasive aquatic plants. He has worked with unmanned aerial systems since 2012. He will demonstrate an a drone used for longer-distance data collection.
