IT staff tasked with securing systems can now use a customized assessment tool to help them. Information Assurance (IA) has customized the Center for Internet Security Configuration Assessment Tool (CIS-CAT) for the university. The tool is licensed for assessing any computer system used for university business, whether owned by the university or not.
The tool will scan your system, compare it to a preset benchmark, and then generate a report to help guide efforts to secure (harden) the system. See CIS-CAT for U-M Systems for more information, a download link for the tool, and documentation for running it and reporting results.
