With the launch of the Michigan Healthcare Security Operations Center, Michigan Medicine is among the first in the nation working with four other healthcare organizations to continuously monitor and improve cybersecurity. The MI-HSOC is a group of highly-skilled teams that leverage shared technologies, process, and skills to prevent, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity events. The new shared environment, located in Plymouth Mich., brings together the information security organizations of Beaumont Health, Munson Healthcare, Michigan Hospital Association, and Michigan Medicine.

“We are truly excited about this partnership, as this new facility represents a unique method of cooperation that has never been seen in Michigan,” said Michigan Medicine’s Chief Information Security Officer, Jack Kufahl. “This will allow all partnering organizations to share best practices and resources more effectively. In turn, providing ample benefits to students, employees, physicians and patients when it comes to increased levels of protection.”
