Scaling homegrown education technology

(Academic Innovation)

The Office of Academic Innovation launched an edtech accelerator that’s building and scaling digital pedagogy within and beyond the university. Previously, the issue with edtech was that it did not extend beyond the initial department it was used for, but the Office of Academic Innovation is providing the infrastructure to support and scale it.

This process involves software developers working with faculty to implement personalized education courses, such as ViewPoint, ECoach, and ART 2.0, that cater to students. This is helpful in larger lecture halls because students benefit from the individual attention they receive from the course programs.

M-Write is another program that works seamlessly within Canvas, and is used to more easily work with writing assignments in STEM classes. The Office of Academic Innovation will continue their partnerships with faculty and help them scale education technology as the field and its user base expands, constantly and positively changing the teaching and learning environment at U-M.
