Denodo at U-M received an upgrade on July 9, 2022

On July 9, 2022, Denodo at U-M was upgraded from version 7 to version 8. Denodo at U-M is a data virtualization tool that can connect to a wide variety of data sources—relational databases, APIs, spreadsheets, websites, flat files, document databases, etc.—and combine, aggregate, filter, and join the data to create easy to understand views. When these views are queried directly or through report-generation software such as Tableau, the queries are run against the data source itself, providing real-time information.

The new version of Denodo comes with many benefits for the U-M community. The upgrade includes improvements to the service architecture and a new web-based tool, Design Studio, that improves support for developers, particularly those using macOS.

The project team worked with current users to test their work in a test version of Denodo 8 prior to the upgrade to ensure that the U-M community would be able to seamlessly continue work in the new tool.

For those that are interested in learning more about Denodo at U-M, go to the service website for helpful information and instructions on how to get started.

Thanks to the project team for a successful upgrade of this important tool.
