In a short interview with “EducationTIMES,” U-M’s newly appointed VPIT-CIO Ravi Pendse discusses his new role and his vision for the future. “I see a teacher in every person I interact with,” says Pendse when asked how he would draw upon his past experience as a collaborative university leader. “So, I expect to listen, learn, adapt, and collaboratively lead. If we as individuals feel supported and a clear process is laid out, a positive result is the outcome.” He also emphasized the importance of innovation and diversity to creating a successful IT strategy in higher education: “We will need innovative technologies to support various pedagogical methods and ideas to enhance instruction and learning. Our students may need to access information from anywhere in the world. Through use of innovative technology, the entire world can be our classroom.”
