Groups now available in U-M Box

With over 70,000 active accounts, U-M Box is one of the most popular IT services on campus. We are happy to announce that you are now able to use MCommunity groups to collaborate in U-M Box. This new feature will be very helpful to faculty and students, particularly those who use the service as part of their classroom or research activities. You can find details in our Box groups documentation.

A couple other reminders about Box:

  • As of January 14, U-M Box accounts of new alumni and retirees will still be limited to 50GB. However, for now they will remain in the UMICH domain rather than being converted into personal accounts in the Box consumer space, as was done previously. Pre-existing alumni and retiree accounts will not be affected at this point.
  • All U-M Box accounts are required to use SSO with uniqname and UMICH password to log in. Review Box: Using Single Sign On for details.

Contact the ITS Service Center if you have questions or need assistance.
