As of December 5, the last server supporting U-M’s former two-factor authentication vendor, RSA, was retired at the university after more than a decade of use. The retirement of RSA and MTokens marks the last step in the vendor replacement process. Since July 2016, cloud-based Duo Security has provided the university’s two-factor authentication service, offering a variety of authentication options to meet the changing needs of the university community. If you’ve still got an old MToken hanging around, you can drop it off at Access and Accounts. And that RSA app on your phone? You can delete it! Any questions or concerns about two-factor authentication at U-M should go through the ITS Service Center. Questions about the current two-factor expansion effort at U-M may be directed to 2FA.project.contact@umich.edu.
