Kashmir Hill, New York Times technology reporter, discussed privacy in the age of facial recognition with Shobita Parthasarathy, Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Science, Technology, and Public Policy (STPP) Program on October 7 at the Ford School. The conversation explored issues addressed in Hill’s new book, Your Face Belongs to Us: A Secretive Startup’s Quest to End Privacy as We Know It, which documents the rise of a small AI company that made facial recognition available to law enforcement, billionaires, and businesses, threatening to end privacy as we know it.
