The Detroit Center recently added online streaming and videoconferencing capabilities to its facility. Streaming is done through Sony’s Playstation Vue service via MGuest connectivity. Playstation Vue replaces the center’s previous use of DirecTV, which had become problematic during inclement weather. We incorporate streaming with our digital signage boards and conference room computers for broadcasting live events. The center has also added a videoconferencing camera for groups that request it. With this addition, we are now able to support groups who want to do videoconferencing in meeting rooms via Skype, Google Hangout, and Bluejeans. This will allow more diverse groups to use our center and helps bridge the gap between the Ann Arbor and Dearborn campuses to the Detroit Center.
