Make plans to participate in the 2026 Hacks with Friends (HWF) March 5 – 6 at the Ross School of Business. Registration opens February 11.
HWF is a spirited hackathon open to staff and faculty across all four University of Michigan campuses who work with, contribute to, or utilize tech and IT in ways that advance the institution’s mission. Everyone is invited. Make new connections, explore new technologies, and find innovative ways to resolve problems. The only limit is your imagination.
Call for Pitches — Deadline: February 6
Do you have an idea for a hack? Is there a problem that could be solved with technology? Maybe you could use a few days of concentrated time to collaborate with others on a solution? That is what Hacks with Friends is for!
Submit your pitch idea for a HWF project you want to lead, fitting it into one of the five 2026 HWF tracks. Pitch submissions will be accepted through Friday, February 6.
NOTE: You do not have to pitch an idea to participate and attend Hacks with Friends. Participants will have the opportunity to review the pitches for hacks and join a hack team when registration opens February 11, 2026.
