DeMonner was recognized for leadership in higher education, while Whyte<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received his fourth consecutive IMS leadership award for his work leading the Caliper learning analytics workgroup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeMonner received his award in recognition of his extensive IMS engagement, in particular for his role as the inaugural chair of the Higher Ed Executive Advisory Committee for the past two years. During that time he led the effort to establish the HED Advisory Committee, recruit new membership, engage with IMS leadership around issues impacting Higher Ed, and help set direction for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imsglobal.org\/higher-education-communities-practice\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the HED Innovation Leadership Networks<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(eg. Learning Analytics, Digital Credentialing, etc.). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mark Leuba, vice president for product management for IMS Global Learning Consortium, presented Whyte with this year\u2019s award stating, \u201cAnthony Whyte&#8230;has been an extraordinary and dedicated contributor [to IMS]. Through [his] efforts leading the work of the Caliper learning analytics workgroup, the Caliper standard has emerged as an essential tool for education organizations to capture critical data about learners&#8217; activities. This leads to improved understanding and informs the organizations&#8217; teaching pedagogy, practices and tools.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">U-M was well represented by the Teaching and Learning Group at the 12th annual IMS institute.
