His course on Python is a\u00a0<\/span>Coursera &#8220;top ten&#8221; offering. With the money he has received from the online course, he started an edtech company and has donated to charities.<\/p>\n<p>According to <strong>James DeVaney<\/strong>, associate vice provost for academic innovation, U-M schools that produce well-performing MOOCs will sometimes put the revenue into an \u201cacademic innovation fund\u201d to improve teaching. Some revenues from MOOCs were also used to start\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/online.umich.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan Online<\/a>, which provides a one-stop directory of all the university&#8217;s online course offerings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some &#8220;blockbuster&#8221;
