Information and Technology Services (ITS) continues to influence new enhancements to BlueJeans<\/a>, the cloud-based conferencing service that offers audio, video, and content sharing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regular BlueJeans meetings can now accommodate up to 150 connected devices (previously 100). You can connect from your unit’s room system, desktop and mobile apps, or by telephone.<\/p>\n

As part of a renewed contract, ITS also negotiated continued access to BlueJeans Events<\/a> (formerly Primetime) at no extra cost to the university community through the next U-M fiscal year.<\/p>\n

Stream to an audience with BlueJeans Events<\/h2>\n

Apart from the base product,\u00a0BlueJeans Events\u00a0provides a more controlled environment in which moderators can mute or promote presenters and stream to thousands of passive viewers. The\u00a0system also automatically sends chat messages, poll results, and a list of participants to the person who set up the meeting.<\/p>\n

Why use BlueJeans at U-M?<\/h2>\n

  1. Units cover the cost<\/b> \u2014 Most likely, your unit already pays for it. The cost to cover BlueJeans is billed to<\/span> participating units<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. HIPAA compliance<\/b> \u2014 BlueJeans can be used to discuss Protected Health Information, like patient names, thanks to an agreement between U-M and BlueJeans Network.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Works with Weblogin<\/b> \u2014 No need to create a separate account: log in with your U-M uniqname and Level-1 password at <\/span>umich.bluejeans.com<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Trusted relationship<\/b> \u2014 ITS has negotiated a data protection agreement with BlueJeans Network, and also ensured the service works across the U-M community.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Recorded meetings<\/b> \u2014 Capture and share audio and video from any BlueJeans meeting.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
