The winning projects include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sensor technology and complex analytics to assess, monitor and predict injury in elite baseball pitchers<\/li><li>A data-driven, non-invasive approach for monitoring hydration status in athletes<\/li><li>A projection-based augmented reality system for inclusive recreational sports and performance tracking<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Researchers at all three U-M campuses submitted proposals. All projects reflect the five grand research challenges identified by ESSI: improved physical activity across the lifespan; wise wearable sensor technology; injury prevention, diagnosis and management; individualized augmented reality and virtual reality; and sport and learning analytics.
