Now you may send the password reset code to your phone as a text message. (Standard text message rates from your cellular provider apply.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For either option to work, just set your phone number and\/or email address ahead of time. Visit <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/password.it.umich.edu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UMICH Account Management<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> today to set your account recovery information so you are prepared if you ever forget your password and need to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/documentation.its.umich.edu\/node\/646\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reset it<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the future. <\/span><\/p>\n<h1><b>Turn on two-factor for additional protection<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you haven&#8217;t yet, consider <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/its.umich.edu\/accounts-access\/uniqnames-passwords\/two-factor-authentication\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">turning on two-factor for U-M Weblogin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to protect your personal information, including your U-M Google account, direct deposit, and other information in Wolverine Access.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Providing a text message option for account recovery was part of the Account Lifecycle Optimization project within the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cio.umich.edu\/eiam-program\/projects\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enterprise Identity &amp; Access Management Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note: \u00a0Michigan Medicine personnel can also <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/documentation.its.umich.edu\/node\/646#michmed\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">use their Michigan Medicine (Level-2) password<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to reset their forgotten UMICH (Level-1) password.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new option for securely and conveniently resetting a forgotten UMICH (Level-1) password is now available.
