Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/umdearborn.edu\/news\/articles\/campus-lab-technologies-bring-programming-improvements-industry-partnership\">through a partnership with\u00a0software company Sema<\/a>, Kessentini is seeing the impact the SBSE lab is making for the university, in students\u2019 lives, and in the software industry.\u00a0Through the partnership, the U-M Office of Technology Transfer licensed four of the lab\u2019s projects; Sema also has given funding for the lab to continue research and development efforts.<\/p>\n<p>The lab\u2019s research\u2014which is related to refactoring, testing, migration, and technical debt\u2014enables industry programmers to focus on building better software because the time they spend performing software maintenance is reduced.
