A U-M heart transplant patient praised MyUofMHealth as being a crucial element in his treatment and recovery process: \u201cI don\u2019t know what I would have done without the availability of this tool. This tool has made my recovery from my treatments and subsequent much easier and more efficient.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to further increase ease of use, Health Information Technology &amp; Services (HITS) teams recently improved the site\u2019s user interface and added new features, allowing patients to manage their care remotely,\u00a0 ultimately making in-person visits smoother and more productive. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the new features include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>eCheck-in:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Patients save time at check-in by verifying or updating their demographics and insurance prior to appointments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Paperless Billing and Bill Pay: <\/b>Patients receive statements online, view new statements, or receive billing notifications.<\/li>\n<li><b>Fast Pass:<\/b>\u00a0Waitlist feature that notifies patients when an earlier appointment becomes available.<\/li>\n<li><b>Secure Health Summary:<\/b>\u00a0Patients can download an encrypted\/protected summary of their health chart.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">U-M patients noticed these updates and showed appreciation for the improvement efforts. \u201cI wanted to tell you that I\u2019m very pleased with the new portal,\u201d said a patient. \u201cAll of the portal\u2019s features make my life easier and my dealings with Michigan faster.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Updates to MyUofMHealth reinforce an ongoing commitment to improving patient and family engagement by providing safe and secure access to medical record information and clinical care staff through IT services and applications. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MyUofMHealth, also known as the U-M patient portal, empowers patients to take an active role in their care by providing access to key components of their medical record, while also allowing them to communicate with their care team(s).
