Alex Halderman<\/strong> and doctoral student <strong>Matt Bernhard<\/strong> discuss the recent US election at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2016\/dec\/28\/election-recount-hacking-voting-machines\">Chaos Communications Congress<\/a>, even paper ballots might not provide much reassurance about election outcomes. Although their analysis of recounts in Michigan and Wisconsin found\u00a0no clear evidence of hacking, it did reveal troubling vulnerabilities in the US election system.
