U-M suggests that you place personal files in a folder named <\/span>Personal and Private<\/b> for any service provided by U-M. With some exceptions as outlined in\u00a0<\/span>Privacy and the Need to Monitor and Access University Records (SPG 601.11)<\/span><\/a> (for example, when required by law or needed to avert threats to IT systems), the university will treat the contents of that folder as non-institutional data, and <\/span>will not<\/b> monitor or access materials in folders labeled with the phrase <\/span>Personal and Private<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
