Some recent highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Revising the university policy on Institutional Data Resource Management (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/spg.umich.edu\/policy\/601.12\"><strong>SPG 601.12<\/strong><\/a><strong>):<\/strong> the long-standing policy will reflect updates to technology and the U-M Data Governance Framework. An <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/10jPUzxPeSw3TDy2l010aXpbKrFcvi3VCbJL1_DqQ3Kc\/edit?usp=sharing\">executive summary<\/a> is available for review (<em>U-M login required<\/em>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Streamlining the university policy on Domain Naming (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/spg.umich.edu\/policy\/601.15\"><strong>SPG 601.15<\/strong><\/a><strong>): <\/strong>merged the outdated policies on IT Addressing (SPG 601.15) and Domain Naming (SPG 601.15-1) into one. The policy is accompanied by <a href=\"https:\/\/its.umich.edu\/computing\/web-mobile\/web-hosting\/domain-names\">guidance on requesting domain names<\/a> (<em>U-M login required<\/em>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Updating the IT Standard on Security Log Collection, Analysis, and Retention (<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/it.umich.edu\/information-technology-policies\/general-policies\/DS-19\"><strong>DS-19<\/strong><\/a><strong>):<\/strong> requirements for security log collection and retention are being revised and clarified. A <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1H2-qQBssGVvnqh3VrcGDnUpEyEkTWL41IIEZqzhueJo\/edit?usp=sharing\">summary of changes<\/a> is available for review (<em>U-M login required<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the group is collaborating with subject matter experts on updates to the IT Standard on Network Security (<a href=\"https:\/\/it.umich.edu\/information-technology-policies\/general-policies\/DS-14\">DS-14<\/a>) and is in the process of drafting a new IT standard and guidance around endpoint protection.You can stay up-to-date on policies and standards under revision by visiting the <a href=\"https:\/\/it.umich.edu\/information-technology-policies\/policies-under-review\">Policies Under Review<\/a> page on the website of the Office of the Vice President for IT &amp;
