Take a break and make time to join Michigan IT to network, socialize, and discover firsthand the technology across the university that drives innovation and helps make U-M leaders and best! There are some fun and interesting events coming up in February and March: the Ford Robotics Building Tour and the Wilson Student Project Center Tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ford Robotics Building Tours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Register today for an opportunity to tour the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/robotics.umich.edu\/about\/ford-motor-company-robotics-building\/\">Ford Robotics Building<\/a>\u00a0the centerpiece in robotics research, learning, and collaboration, and home to Michigan Robotics. Select one of two reserved tour dates set aside for members of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/it.umich.edu\/community\">Michigan IT community<\/a>: Friday, February 16 or Friday, March 8. Tours run from 12 p.m. &#8211; 12:45 p.m. There is a 20-person capacity limit for each tour so <a href=\"https:\/\/sessions.studentlife.umich.edu\/p\/track\/10983\">register for the Robotics<\/a> early.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tours include these facility highlights:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three-story fly zone for autonomous aerial vehicles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An outdoor obstacle course for walking robots<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High-bay garage space for self-driving cars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A rehabilitation lab with a Stewart platform, force plates, and dual-tread treadmill<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A robotics maker space with CNC, 3D printers, soldering irons, and other shop tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An outdoor Mars Yard with imitation martian rocks and soil for testing rovers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Who can participate?<\/strong>&nbsp;Any U-M staff, faculty, or researcher who works with technology, considers themselves a technologist, or appreciates technology can participate in the Michigan IT community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tour Location:<\/strong>&nbsp;2505 Hayward St., Ann Arbor, MI 48109-2106; Plan to arrive early to ensure you don\u2019t miss out on any part of the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parking:<\/strong>&nbsp;There is Orange, Blue, and Visitor parking available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NC26 has 82 visitor parking available as well for $2.20\/hour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NC53 Orange Lot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NC46 Orange Lot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NC28 Blue Lot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Take the U-M Bus:<\/strong>\u00a05-minute walk from the FXB stop or Hubbard\/Hayward stop on Commuter North, Northwood, Med Express, or North-East Shuttle.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/MIIT-Wilson-Center-Tour-Web.jpg\" alt=\"&quot; &quot;\" class=\"wp-image-27825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/MIIT-Wilson-Center-Tour-Web.jpg 600w, https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/MIIT-Wilson-Center-Tour-Web-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wilson Student Project Center Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sessions.studentlife.umich.edu\/p\/track\/10986\">Register for the Wilson Center tour<\/a>\u00a0for a special 45-minute tour of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/teamprojects.engin.umich.edu\/\">Wilson Student Project Center<\/a>\u00a0for members of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/it.umich.edu\/community\">Michigan IT community<\/a>\u00a0on March 15 beginning at 11 a.m. There is a 30-person capacity limit for this tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Wilson Center is a $10-million facility for design, assembly, machining, electronics, and painting that complements classroom instruction.
