This month I’m highlighting a decentralized social app called Bluesky<\/a>. It was developed by former Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It aims to create a new form of social media that is open, transparent, and community-driven. The platform uses an open-source framework and has a Twitter-like user interface with algorithmic choice, federated design, and community-specific moderation. Its goal is to find another means to sustain its network outside of advertising with paid services, so it can remain free to users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is deck.blue?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a 3rd party app, deck.blue<\/a> is a Bluesky client that supports multi-column browsing, allowing you to check everything you care about at once (just like TweetDeck!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does this work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By using deck.blue, you can do everything you can already do on the official apps with the benefit of an information-efficient layout, organizing columns – updated in real time – to better fit your needs. Wanna keep track of many searched terms at once? Just add a column for each one! By using Bluesky’s custom feed system, you can also follow as many communities as you want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
