Most notably, back in 2019,\u00a0the U.S. and several other countries announced they would\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/technology\/2018\/12\/11\/18134440\/huawei-executive-order-entity-list-china-trump\">ban companies from using components manufactured by China-based company Huawei in their 5G networks<\/a>. Canada followed suit with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/05\/20\/1100324929\/canada-bans-chinas-huawei-technologies-from-5g-networks\">similar ban this year<\/a>.
