The U-M Software Directory team is now ready to welcome additional unit partners aboard! In November 2021, the U-M Software Directory<\/a> launched with a select list of software available from three ITS areas: Software Services, Campus Computing Sites, and MiWorkspace. The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) and the Office of University Development (OUD) added some of their software titles last month including iClicker Cloud<\/a>, Knitro<\/a>, Cvent<\/a>, and Jira<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efficient access to software resources is critical to the university\u2019s mission. Listing your unit\u2019s software in the directory will make it easier for students, faculty, and staff to identify and locate relevant software they need to conduct their work. The easy-to-use interface helps you quickly identify the software you need, what is available to you across campus and from whom, and potential alternatives. A central university software database would also help unit administrators to track software licenses to better manage cost, visibility, compliance, and security around titles at both the central and unit level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partner units\u2019 software titles will be searchable by the entire U-M community, including faculty, staff, students, sponsored affiliates, etc. across all three campuses and Michigan Medicine. The directory team will provide onboarding materials, training, and partner-specific support information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Software Directory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The U-M Software Directory aims to be a central library of software titles and packages available to faculty, staff, and students across all three academic campuses and Michigan Medicine. The Software Directory project was directed by the Strategic Advisory Committee (STAC)<\/a> and completed by Information and Technology Services (ITS) in partnership with the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) and the Office of University Development (OUD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
