The WCC\u00a0coursework\u00a0is paid for by the program.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have had incredible success with this program\u00a0in the past.\u00a0Apprentices get exposure to different areas and teams while developing their professional skills on the job,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Motica\u00a0Lowery, manager of the\u00a0Health Information Technology &amp; Services (HITS)\u00a0Service Desk.\u00a0Her team handles\u00a0more than\u00a020,000\u00a0IT-related contacts\u00a0each month\u00a0through\u00a0calls, online submissions, and walk-ins.\u00a0\u201cWe look forward to continuing this success and expanding our program to reach\u00a0more talented individuals.\u201d\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Lousayni\u00a0Benson,\u00a0a\u00a0former\u00a0service desk\u00a0apprentice,\u00a0was hired\u00a0by HITS\u00a0full-time from the program. The\u00a0Detroit native moved back to Michigan after working at an Amazon distribution center in Ohio, where he was exposed to some IT-related work that interested him.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cI wanted to complete my education, but I also needed a job,\u201d Benson said. \u201cWhen I saw this job placement at Michigan Medicine, it was basically like going back to school and having it paid for.
