This line, separated so firmly in our minds by apps and user interfaces, is finer than it appears as our devices are under attack in new, increasingly sophisticated ways: microphones that \u201chear\u201d light; microprocessors that \u201ctell\u201d us secrets; self-driving cars that \u201csee\u201d fake objects; sensors that \u201cfeel\u201d the wrong temperature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These scenarios and more have all been demonstrated by <a href=\"https:\/\/news.engin.umich.edu\/2021\/01\/hacking-reality\/\">security researchers at U-M who are exploring the limits of hardware and finding new, sobering vulnerabilities in our computers and homes<\/a>.
