The market for these \u201cAI chips\u201d is booming, and <a href=\"https:\/\/news.engin.umich.edu\/2020\/12\/sambanova-founded-by-alumnus-kunle-olukotun-emerges-from-stealth-mode-with-ai-accelerated-hpc-system\/\">a key player in this new space is Palo Alto based SambaNova Systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SambaNova, now a unicorn valued at over $2.5 billion, was co-founded by alumnus <strong>Kunle Olukotun<\/strong>, who serves as the company\u2019s chief technologist. SambaNova\u2019s approach creates a new platform from scratch that is optimized specifically for AI operations, rather than scaling existing architectures.
