Each course can have $100 per student for HPC, GPU, Jupyter, and RStudio resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Great Lakes is the university\u2019s flagship, open-science, high-performance computing cluster. Just one second of computing on the Great Lakes network is the same as streaming Netflix 1080p for 5 hours (or 2 hours of 4k), and each of the more than 400 nodes on Great Lakes has this capability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This speed can enable rapid modeling iteration and testing, exposing students to more realistic, full-scale application to their coursework and extracurricular activities. An engineering <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/3-2-1blast-off-coe-students-use-arc-ts-hpc-clusters-for-rocket-design\/\">student-run team has been using Great Lakes to rapidly iterate simulations<\/a> to send a rocket into space.
