Existing videoconferencing tools, including BlueJeans and Google Hangouts, will continue to be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Virtual <strong>training<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In support of attending classes, events, and meetings virtually, ITS is hosting virtual Zoom training. A live session will be held March 19 at 11 a.m., with a recording to be published afterward. <a href=\"https:\/\/its.umich.edu\/communication\/videoconferencing\/zoom\/training\">Visit the ITS website<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE: If your area or department already uses Zoom, faculty and staff have been instructed to contact IT support for guidance before installing the versions below.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Using Zoom<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Visit the<a href=\"https:\/\/its.umich.edu\/communication\/videoconferencing\/zoom\"> Zoom page<\/a> on the ITS website for more information, or access the tool directly at <a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.umich.edu\">zoom.umich.edu<\/a>.<\/li><li>Install<a href=\"https:\/\/gsuite.google.com\/marketplace\/app\/zoom_for_gsuite\/364750910244\"> Zoom for GSuite add-on<\/a> to schedule meetings from Gmail and Google Calendar.<\/li><li>Integrations with Canvas, Blackboard, and MiVideo will follow later this week. If you are already using Zoom through Canvas, please continue with your existing process.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>MiWorkspace users<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>From a MiWorkspace computer, install Zoom using the<a href=\"https:\/\/documentation.its.umich.edu\/miworkspace\/miworkspace-install-softwaremanage-updates-windows\"> Software Center<\/a> (Windows) or the<a href=\"https:\/\/documentation.its.umich.edu\/miworkspace\/miworkspace-install-softwaremanage-updates-mac\"> Managed Software Center<\/a> (Mac).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PHI and other sensitive data<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/safecomputing.umich.edu\/dataguide\/?q=node\/248\">Sensitive Data Guide<\/a> for a list of the sensitive data types that are and are not permitted when using Zoom.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITS has announced a new option for connecting remotely: Zoom Videoconferencing.
