(ARC-TS)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\/\">Armis2<\/a> service is the go-to cluster for sensitive data, and is available to all U-M researchers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key features of Armis2&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>HIPAA-aligned<\/li><li>24 standard nodes using the Intel Haswell-processor, each with 24 cores. More capacity will be added soon<\/li><li>Slurm provides the resource manager and scheduler&nbsp;<\/li><li>The scratch storage system will provide high-performance temporary storage for compute jobs. <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\/user-guide\/\">See the User Guide<\/a> for quotas and the file purge policy<\/li><li>The EDR InfiniBand network is 100Gb\/s to each node<\/li><li>Large Memory Nodes have 1.5TB memory per node<\/li><li>GPU Nodes with NVidia K40GPUs (4GPUs per node). Newer GPUs will be added soon.<\/li><li>For more information on the technical aspects, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\/configuration\/\">Armis2 configuration page<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A simplified accounting structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On Armis2, you can use a single account to request the resources you need, including standard, GPU, and large memory nodes. If you already have an active account on Armis, it has been migrated to Armis2. <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\/user-guide\/\">See the User Guide<\/a> for more information on accounts and partitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rates: \u201cPay only for what you use\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use of Armis2 is currently free. Beginning on December 2, 2019, all jobs that run on Armis2 will be subject to applicable <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\/rates\/\">Armis2 rates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Data migration information for existing Armis users<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All migrations from Armis to Armis2 must be completed by November 25, 2019, as Armis will not run any jobs beyond that date. <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\/timeline\/\">View the Armis2 HPC timeline<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/migrating-from-torque-to-slurm\/\">The Armis2 User Guide<\/a> has details about how the new resource manager works, updating the job submission scripts to work with Slurm, and best practices for migrating data and software to Armis2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learn how to use the new system<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Discover Armis2 and Slurm, and get a list of policies, view the documentation on the <a href=\"http:\/\/arc-ts.umich.edu\/armis2\">Armis2 website<\/a>. Additionally, ARC-TS and academic unit support teams will be offering training sessions around campus.
