U-M&#8217;s re-negotiated licensing agreement with Microsoft will provide an expanded set of tools and services to faculty, staff, and students, including both online and desktop versions of the popular Office 365 suite of applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur goal with this project was not to replace our current infrastructure,\u201d explains Deborah Gowan, director of application operations for Information and Technology Services. \u201cGoogle and Box remain the recommended collaboration suite for academic campuses.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"omsc-box omsc-with-title omsc-with-bg-color omsc-with-icon omsc-icon-style-border omsc-icon-shape-circle\" style=\"border-color:#000000;background-color:#eff0f1;text-align:left\"><div class=\"omsc-box-icon-wrapper\"><div class=\"omsc-box-icon\" style=\"border-color:#eff0f1;color:#eff0f1;border-color:#000000;color:#000000;\"><i class=\"fa fa-info\"><\/i><\/div><\/div><div class=\"omsc-box-inner\"><div class=\"omsc-box-title\">Microsoft 365 Quick Stats<\/div><\/p>\n<ul class=\"block-editor-rich-text__editable editor-rich-text__editable\" role=\"textbox\" contenteditable=\"true\" aria-multiline=\"true\" data-is-placeholder-visible=\"false\" aria-label=\"Write list\u2026\" aria-autocomplete=\"list\">\n<li><strong>167,486<\/strong>: Total number of active users<\/li>\n<li><strong>27.5 TB<\/strong>: Data migrated<\/li>\n<li><strong>8.2 million<\/strong>: Files migrated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rollout to the three academic campuses began June 28. OneDrive contains the vast majority of data that existed in the previous U-M Microsoft environment, including Office files such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Except for a small number of accounts, the migration of OneDrive content to the new platform is now complete.
