The daylong event will be focused on ways in which the arts and humanities might be integrated into the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The town hall will be led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.a2ru.org\">Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities<\/a> (a2ru) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalacademies.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine<\/a> (NASEM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A report, &#8220;The Integration of the Humanities of the Humanities and Arts with Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Higher Education: Branches from the Same Tree,&#8221; released in May 2018 serves as the catalyst for this meeting. The two-year study found &#8220;that interdisciplinary integration leads to positive student outcomes,&#8221; Maryrose Flanigan, executive director at a2ru said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The town hall will include an overview of the 2018 report given by Tom Rudin, NASEM&#8217;s director of the board on higher education and workforce, and discussion among
