Did your co-workers receive strange emails from you? If so, your U-M account might be compromised, and you should take action immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Change your UMICH (Level-1) password<br \/>\n<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>For instructions and tips, see <a href=\"http:\/\/documentation.its.umich.edu\/node\/240\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Choosing and Changing a Secure UMICH Password<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>You should also <b>set new security questions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if you had previously set them in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/password.it.umich.edu\/pwm\/public\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UMICH Account Management<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Report it<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A compromised U-M account is considered an IT security incident that should be reported. See <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.safecomputing.umich.edu\/report-it-security-incident\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Report an IT Security Incident<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Monitor your accounts<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Check your U-M Google email for suspicious activity.<\/strong> Make screen shots showing any settings that have been tampered with to include in your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safecomputing.umich.edu\/report-it-security-incident\">report of the incident.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Check your other U-M services Check your U-M email for suspicious activity.<\/strong> For example, look for files in your U-M online storage spaces that you did not put there.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Turn on two-factor for Weblogin<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your password needs a partner! When you <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/its.umich.edu\/accounts-access\/uniqnames-passwords\/two-factor-authentication\/turn-two-factor-weblogin\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">turn on two-factor authentication for Weblogin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (the login page for Wolverine Access, U-M Google, U-M Box, and more), anyone trying to access your account must provide two proofs of ID:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Something you know, such as your password.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Something you have, such as a passcode, a phone, or even a mobile app.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For more information and links to helpful resources, refer to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.safecomputing.umich.edu\/be-aware\/compromised-accounts\/what-do-if-your-account-compromised\">What to Do if Your Account is Compromised<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you noticed messages in your sent folder that you didn\u2019t send?
