The result is a powerful but complex landscape of opportunities for parents, guardians, educators, and youth to navigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enter <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youthhub.umich.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Youth Hub<\/a>, an interactive marketplace that highlights summer opportunities, which community organizations have described as a game changer for the youth, families, and schools they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Youthhubflyervertical.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Youthhubflyervertical-467x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12059\" width=\"467\" height=\"700\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Flyer by Amanda Hudeck, public engagement coordinator, U-M Center for Educational Outreach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Youth Hub began<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three years ago, the university\u2019s educational outreach community identified the need for a single place on the web where parents, educators, and students could explore all opportunities available to support student success and college and career readiness. To be successful, CEO\u2019s campus partners needed a solution to create a dynamic and engaging experience that would not just make information about opportunities easier to find, but would also keep people coming back to find the next opportunity.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After an extensive review of solutions, CEO partnered with InfoReady. Powered by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inforeadycorp.com\/infoready-scale\" target=\"_blank\">InfoReady Scale<\/a>, CEO launched <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/youthhub.umich.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Youth Hub<\/a> at the beginning of 2018, showcasing over 40 summer opportunities in an interactive marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Making a difference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The solution that powers Youth Hub, offered by InfoReady, has been well received:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Community organizations described Youth Hub as \u201ca game changer\u201d for the youth, families, and schools they serve.<\/li><li>Families shared their thanks\u2014they no longer have to spend hours searching the web or digging through various university websites.<\/li><li>InfoReady Scale\u2019s workflow engine has been used to accept and review applications for admission by five summer programs.<\/li><li>By pointing to Youth Hub in their advertising campaigns, program managers can create effective cross-promotion of all opportunities across campus.<\/li><li>Some programs report positive changes in the geographic diversity of participants. Youth Hub has started to expand the reach of the university.<br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presidential recognition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U-M President Schlissel recognized CEO with his <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/record.umich.edu\/articles\/presidents-staff-innovation-award-winners-announced-2018\" target=\"_blank\">Staff Innovation Award<\/a> last spring.
