{"id":11859,"date":"2019-01-31T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-01-31T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/?p=11859&#038;preview=true&#038;preview_id=11859"},"modified":"2024-07-08T06:05:37","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T10:05:37","slug":"u-m-procures-full-access-to-matlab-tools-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/2019\/01\/31\/u-m-procures-full-access-to-matlab-tools-training\/","title":{"rendered":"U-M procures full access to MATLAB tools &#038; training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"139\" src=\"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/09_MW_logo_RGB-700x139.jpg\" alt=\"MathWorks\" class=\"wp-image-11895\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Michigan scientists rejoice: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MATLAB (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/products\/matlab.html\" target=\"_blank\">MATLAB<\/a>, a popular mathematical computing, simulation, and analysis platform, is now available to the entire U-M community.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A consortium of U-M departments collaborated to fund the campuswide site license\u2014including the College of Engineering, the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA), Michigan Medicine, Advanced Research Computing \u2013 Technology Services (ARC-TS), UM-Dearborn, and Information and Technology Services (ITS).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the new agreement, U-M faculty, staff, and students will have access to the full suite of MATLAB tools and unlimited access to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/services\/training.html\">online library of training videos<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Download MATLAB &amp; access online training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/academia\/tah-portal\/university-of-michigan-820543.html\">University of Michigan Mathworks portal<\/a><\/li><li>Click <strong>Sign in to get started<\/strong><\/li><li>Use Weblogin to authorize access to MathWorks Edu Service Provider of The MathWorks, Inc. Click <strong>Confirm<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Create or sign in to an existing Mathworks account<\/li><li>Download the installer<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For computers supported by MiWorkspace, please follow <a href=\"https:\/\/its.umich.edu\/miworkspace\/how-do-i\/install-or-request-software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">the instructions for installing or requesting software<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MATLAB was previously available at no cost to members of the funding departments and available for sale to other individuals at U-M.
