Washington St.) for an exciting Dissonance event: <b>Catching Fake News<\/b>. There is no charge for this event and no need to register.<\/p>\n<p>A panel of experts will explore, two years after the 2016 election, the question of whether we are winning the war against digital misinformation and manipulation. They will describe the technical and journalistic challenges of identifying fake news and manipulated information online and assess the effectiveness of the response to fake news by platforms such as Facebook in the U.S., Europe, and around the world.<\/p>\n<p><b>Moderator:<\/b> <a href=\"http:\/\/fordschool.umich.edu\/faculty\/brendan-nyhan\">Brendan Nyhan<\/a>, professor, Gerald R.
