Now is the time to think about converting to new Sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"views-field views-field-title\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10544\" src=\"https:\/\/michigan.it.umich.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/new-google-sites-e1539720246154.png\" alt=\"screenshot of new google sites UI\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"views-field views-field-title\">As first announced on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/its.umich.edu\/communication\/collaboration\/google\/update\/classic-new-sites-conversion-tool\">July 18<\/a>,\u00a0Google has provided an automatic migration tool to transfer from Google &#8220;classic&#8221; Sites to new Sites. &#8220;Although Google has not yet announced a date to end classic Sites, we strongly encourage you to start preparing now to convert your classic Sites,&#8221; says Brian Cors, ITS service manager for U-M Google. &#8220;This will help avoid a last minute rush and possible loss of your Sites content.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The migration tool makes it quick and easy to move sites by automatically creating a draft of the classic Site in new Sites. This new draft will have the updated look and feel of new Sites, and contain the content from the classic Site.
